This Cookie Policy explains how Digizal uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Digizal uses essential technologies necessary to operate the website and remember your privacy choices. Where you give permission, Digizal also uses Google Analytics for website measurement and performance insights. Digizal does not intentionally use cookies for behavioural advertising, remarketing or personalised advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies we know about
The table below reflects the technologies found in the current repository. Cookie duration refers to browser cookie duration where known; it is not the same thing as Google Analytics account-level data retention.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| digizal_cookie_consent | Digizal | Strictly Necessary | Stores the visitor's cookie consent preferences so the website can remember whether Analytics & Performance is enabled or disabled. | Approximately 6 months, implemented as 183 days. |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Analytics & Performance | Used by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish users for website measurement after Analytics consent has been granted. | Google default is up to 2 years, subject to browser limits and Google Analytics configuration. |
| _ga_5ZH1HDD2H0 | Google Analytics | Analytics & Performance | Used by Google Analytics 4 to persist session state for the Digizal GA4 measurement ID after Analytics consent has been granted. | Google default is up to 2 years, subject to browser limits and Google Analytics configuration. |
| Google Maps embedded map | Embedded third-party content | Provides the interactive office location map on the Contact page. Google may process device, browser and usage information when the map iframe is loaded. | Controlled by Google. Digizal does not set the cookie duration in the repository. | |
| YouTube embedded video | Google / YouTube | Embedded third-party content | Plays the About Digizal video only when a visitor opens the video modal. Google or YouTube may process device, browser and usage information when the video iframe is loaded. | Controlled by Google or YouTube. Digizal does not set the cookie duration in the repository. |
Google Analytics
Digizal uses Google Analytics to understand how the website is used and to help improve website performance, content, navigation and user experience. Digizal treats Google Analytics as an optional analytics technology.
The current implementation does not load the Google Analytics script until Analytics consent has been granted. It also uses Google Consent Mode v2 with Analytics denied by default and advertising-related consent signals kept denied. When Analytics is accepted, only analytics_storage is updated to granted.
You can read Google's own information about GA4 cookie usage and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices and consent
Optional Analytics & Performance technologies are off by default. They are not pre-selected in the preference centre, and Digizal does not treat scrolling, browsing, closing a modal or continuing to use the website as Analytics consent.
For UK visitors, Digizal's approach is designed to reflect PECR requirements for storing or accessing information on a user's device and UK GDPR standards for valid consent where personal data processing relies on consent. For EU and EEA visitors, Digizal takes a conservative approach aligned with the ePrivacy Directive, including Article 5(3), and GDPR consent principles where applicable.
You can accept Analytics, reject non-essential technologies, or save a more specific preference. Rejecting Analytics does not prevent normal access to the website.
Manage your cookie preferences
You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the website footer. That control reopens the same preference centre used by the cookie banner.
If you previously accepted Analytics, you can turn it off and save your preferences. If you previously rejected Analytics, you can turn it on later if you choose.
Third-party services
Google Analytics is provided by Google. Digizal also embeds Google Maps on the Contact page and a YouTube video that loads when a visitor opens the workplace technology video modal. These third-party services may process information under their own privacy terms when they are loaded or used.
Digizal does not currently use Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, HubSpot tracking, behavioural advertising cookies, remarketing cookies, session recording or personalised advertising cookies in the repository reviewed for this policy.
International data processing
Google Analytics, Google Maps and YouTube are international services. Their use may involve processing information outside your country. Digizal has not identified Google account-level international transfer settings or contractual details in this repository, so this policy does not claim a specific transfer mechanism.
Information about broader personal-data processing is available in the Privacy Policy.
Data retention
Digizal's consent-preference cookie is configured to last approximately 6 months. Google Analytics browser cookies use Google's GA4 default durations unless changed in the Google Analytics account or limited by the visitor's browser.
Google Analytics account-level data retention cannot be determined from this repository and should be verified in the Google Analytics property settings. This is separate from browser cookie expiry and from Digizal's business data retention practices.
